Pack 641 - We're Second to None!!

Cub Scout Pack 641 is based in North Arlington, Virginia.  Most of our Scouts attend either Jamestown or Discovery Elementary Schools as well as a few other nearby schools.  We are a year-round Pack that enjoys traditional Scout outings and community service projects that help our young men develop self-confidence and sound decision-making.  We believe in FUN with a PURPOSE and we encourage the participation of the entire family.  Click on the links to the left to learn more about us or reach out to the Cubmaster with any question you might have about our Pack or Scouting in general.  In the interest of protecting our kids, we limit access to this site to only those who are members of the Pack.

December 6 Pack Meeting: Toys for Tots

Posted on Nov 13 2017 - 10:35am

The December Pack meeting will be Wednesday, December 6th, beginning at 7:00 PM at Jamestown Elementary.  The Marines will be there for a Toys for Tots collection, so every Cub Scout should bring a new toy to donate - do not gift wrap them.  These will be given to children who would otherwise not receive a toy for Christmas. We will also have a speaker from the National Capital Area Council give a short presentation about the Friends of Scouting program.

Wreaths Across America

Posted on Nov 13 2017 - 10:35am

On Saturday, December 16th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon the Pack will gather at Alexandria National Cemetery, 1450 Wilkes St, Alexandria, VA 22314 to participate in the Wreaths Across America hosted by VFW Post 609.  We support this event at this cemetery because it is not as well known, however, it is actually older than Arlington National Cemetery.  Come out in your Cub Scout Class A uniform for a meaningful and enjoyable morning.

Scouting for Food

Posted on Nov 10 2017 - 9:26pm

Saturday, November 4 - BAG DROP OFF.
This Saturday, the Pack will meet at 9am in the back parking lot of Walker Chapel for the collection of Scouting for Food (SFF). The weather is going to be cold, so dress warmly! Contact your Den Leader for instructions on collecting in your assigned area. Help will be needed sorting and boxing the food at Walker Chapel after it has all been collected and before it gets dropped off for use by the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC).
As Scouts, we know how fortunate we are to have a warm meal every night — whether around the campfire or at the kitchen table. And we know that not everyone is so lucky.

Webelos Recycling Collection Project: Eye Glasses, Shoes and Batteries

Posted on Oct 27 2017 - 3:10pm

Support our Senior Webelos who will be holding a recycling event at the Walker Chapel United Methodist Church Octoberfest from 9am - 10:30am, October 28 as a service project. They are collecting eye glasses, shoes (all types including tennis shoes, dress shoes, boots) and batteries.  All donated items will be recycled or repurposed through the recycling program with MOM's Organic Market. The shoes do not have to be serviceable – they will be shredded for other purposes and kept out of a landfill.  The eyeglasses will be donated to the Lions Club for use by people who cannot afford glasses.  The batteries will be properly disposed of so they will not leak into the ground and our streams.
